Walking tour – Old Brasov and mount Tâmpa hike

You are an explorer and nothing scares you, even if it requires a little more effort? Would you like to discover the city both by walking through the old narrow streets and by exploring a historical path with its own stories?
If you love history and nature just as much, then you have found the right experience for you. Because it is not for nothing that Brașov is called the city below Tâmpa, our enthusiastic guide will walk you through the stories of Brașov and will take you from the cobbled streets to the foot of the mountain and from there, through the forest, to the top. This is the spot from where the city can be seen with completely different eyes. From here, you will find out how important the mountain was for the city, it’s people and it’s development over time.

• Black Church presentation, outside and inside
• Honterus Court and High School – the imprint of Johanness Honterus in Brașov’s culture, the reform of Honterus
• Rope Street and Rope Museum
• Ecaterina’s Gate
• The Citadel Walls
• Șaguna High School outside
• Union Square and St. Nicholas Church
• Short presentation of the First Romanian School from the outside
• Sub-Tâmpa Promenade with impressive views over old Brasov
• Climbing Mount Tâmpa on the historic route of Gaboni *, climbing time: 1 – 1 ,5 hours
• Crossing the ridge at the Panoramic Restaurant and the cable car station (stop to recharge our
batteries at the old bar here)
• Stop at the belle-vue at Bethlehem Grotto (BRAȘOV logo) and climb on Tâmpa Peak
(960 m)
• The ruins of the old Brașovia fortress
• The base of the Millennium statue and its story
• Descent on the serpentine road or through the Saddle of Tâmpa in the old neighbourhood of Schei ≈ 1 hour (both variants).
Includes:
• 1 plain / mineral water of 0.5 l per person.
• Lunch at a locals restaurant with neo-traditional Transylvanian cuisine.
Menu: entrée / soup or broth, main course (meat, fish or vegetarian, depending on preferences), 1
mineral water at 330ml.
It does NOT include alcoholic beverages which will be ordered and paid for separately.

Essential info
We organize this experience every Thursday starting 10 AM or every day of the week on request.
Reservations shall be made 24 hours in advance but sometimes we might be able to accomodate last minute requests.
Contact us and we will do our best to fit your schedule.
You should have an average physical condition: walking regularly on fairly longer distances and short hikes should not be a problem for you
Make sure you have adequate clothing:
- Hiking or sports shoes with adherent soles. Mountain boots are cumpulsory during winter.
- Large-fit mountain / sports pants
- A small backpack for water and all the necessary things for a 2-3 hour hike (water bottle, sun glasses, sun screen and even some snacks)
- Do not carry heavy luggage or backpack. You don’t need a lot of things to have a good time. In order to have a good experience it is recomended to come as light as possible.
