Transylvanian Highlands

A very well individualized land even today that has to offer a lot of remnants of the tradition and endurance of the people from these lands.

Transylvanian Highlands

Făgăraș County is perhaps the most individualized contact depression in Transylvania. Bordered to the south by the proud ridges of Făgăraș with an average altitude of 2000 m and to the north by the Olt Valley. Over time, this land was a bridge between Transylvania and Wallachia. Come with us to discover the traditional Romanian village with all its institutions concentrated in the center or hearth of the village. We walk around the caves of the outlaws from the Perșani mountains and the natural laundries of carpets and still functional fabrics from Lisa. We are amazed by the water mills, including the oldest functional water mill in Transylvania, and we learn about the permanence on these lands at the monastery dug in the rock from Șinca.
